From around £50 per £10,000 of cover for a six month period makes it affordable.

  25. Secure Your Storage Unit: Use a strong padlock or other security measures as suggested by us to ensure only you have access to your unit in order to safeguard your belongings.

  26. Dispose of Restricted Items: Verify that prohibited items (e.g., flammables, chemicals, or perishables) are not included in your storage load.

  27. Take Final Meter Readings: Record final readings for gas, electricity, and water at your old property before leaving and submit them to providers.

  28. Prepare the Storage Container: Visit the container if you so wish before moving items - this isn't required if you're out of the area. We will ensure your unit is clean and ready for use.

  29. Clean and Defrost Appliances: Thoroughly clean fridges, freezers, and washing machines to prevent mildew and odours during storage. It's sometimes best to leave such doors ajar to allow airflow.
